As a Clinical Lead Nurse, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining outstanding clinical standards across the home, supporting the Home Manager, and providing leadership and guidance to the nursing and care teams to ensure residents receive safe, effective, and person-centred care.

Dean Wood Manor is a care home that provides long-term facilities for up to 50 elderly residents, as well as specialising in meeting the needs of dementia sufferers, who are able to maintain as interesting and active a lifestyle as possible under the home's care and guidance.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work closely with the Home Manager and wider care team to maintain exceptional clinical standards and ensure every resident’s individual care plan is delivered with professionalism and compassion.

This includes:

• Leading and delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care
• Providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to nurses and care staff
• Supporting the Home Manager with clinical governance and compliance requirements
• Monitoring and auditing care practices to ensure high standards are maintained
• Administering medication safely and accurately and overseeing medication management processes
• Monitoring residents’ nutritional and dietary needs
• Supporting wound care, infection control, and pressure area care management
• Reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and clinical documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Investigating incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns where required
• Supporting staff development through coaching, mentoring, and competency assessments
• Leading by example to promote a safe environment for residents and staff
• Building positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
• Supporting quality improvement initiatives and preparing for inspections and audits

Essential Skills & Experience

For this role, it is essential that you:

• Are currently registered with the NMC for the appropriate client group (valid PIN required)
• Have previous care home experience
• Have experience in medication administration and clinical oversight
• Have knowledge of wound care, infection control, and pressure area care
• Have experience leading, supervising, or mentoring nursing and care teams
• Have strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Have experience completing audits, care plan reviews, and clinical documentation
• Have a good understanding of CQC standards and clinical governance processes
